VP VI - "Raven and Stag" by TwaRavenMotifs VP VI - "Raven and Stag" by TwaRavenMotifs
Raven truly did love the Irish Elk. Perhaps that is where he got all his wisdom.

Reminds me of a Native legend.

Ah yes, I can see the parallels. Perhaps I should make a piece based on that story.

Did you base this piece on a classic European legend?

Nope. Just took some inspiration from extinct megafauna and gave it my own spin.

Very cool.
I hear there used to be really big oxen and really big dogs in that part of the world...

Aurochs and dire wolves, I believe you're talking about.

Wow, this is really cool. Every time I look at it, I see something else that I didn't see the first time. The story is kind of sad, though? Is it part of mythology?

No, a little something I made up, rather. And I'm glad you liked the complexity of my drawing; drawings with layers are a favourite of mine.

Well, you did an excellent job with the story. I was convinced that it had come from Native American folklore or something.

Thank you! :D I read a lot of folklore, so it helps with these kinds of pictures.

Very good. With my bad eyes, I had trouble making out what I was looking at at first. This is one of the rare gems on deviantart which not only actually qualify as art, but true art. Outstanding on every level.

This is a huge compliment, thank you. To be honest, I drew it in a way that I hoped people would search it for all the symbolism so they could get a full "meaning" of the picture, if that makes sense.

Also, just to be clear, did you mean to ask to make a poster out of this?
